For my semester project I am focusing on two
different Mexican artists who are not relatively know in the Art World, Olga Costa and Remidios Vardo. The inspiration
to represent these two women artists as the topic of my research paper for my semester
project, was seeing the works of these two extraordinary women personally, when
I visited a museum over the summer two years ago in Mexico. These two Mexican artists have a lot of talent
and seeing their work in person was just stunning. Both artists are finally
starting to gain some recognition and it has been said that one of them could
be the next idols in Women’s art in Mexico. This huge deal in Mexico especially
because having a women artist gain international fame is unheard of since the
last time Frida.
My thesis
for this project will be Mexican women artist have not gained worldwide fame since
the time of Frida ,but many believe that two Mexican artists ,Olga Costa and Remidios Vardo, have the potential
to put Mexican Women’s art back on the world stage.
The first three body paragraphs will consist of
a small biography of the upbringings of one of the artists and what inspired
them to pursue a career in art, the hardships faced by each of the artists many
before getting to the positions they are now and some of the most important
work s that this artist has accomplished. The next three body paragraphs will discuss
a small biography of the upbringings of the second artists and what inspired
them to pursue a career in art, the hardships faced by the artists before getting to the positions
they are now and some of the most important works that this artist has
accomplished.
My final paragraph will be about how these two
women are in the progress of pushing the boundaries and reaching international fame
like Frida.
